 John McCormick's Signature The pages were transcribed from documents obtained from the National Archives by Virginia McCormick of Portland Oregon, the wife of a direct descendant of John McCormick. John McCormick was born in 1754 "within eight miles of Winchester, Virginia." John's application describes where he was born, the kind of military service he did during the Revolutionary War, and where he lived in the years following the War, finally moving to Fayette County, Indiana, in 1813, where he lived out his life and died. Pages 1 through 4 relate to John's application, and Pages 5 through 9 are his wife's Catherine's application after John's death and accounting information. |
